It was shown by Otal that any two n-bridge presentations of the trivial knot are isotopic. This is often cited in work on links in bridge position however the original paper is difficult to track down. Below is a copy of Otals original paper as well as a handwritten translation of it into English. The translation is my own, so any subsequent translation errors are of course my own.
